Bath & Body Works Haul

Even though I just spent $30 on an online order from Bath & Body Works, I dragged my mom to the mall today to check out the in-store deals! There's definitely a wider selection of stuff in stores during their "Hello,Yellow" 75% off sale, so I recommend getting to one as soon as you can!

-Summer Vanillas Body Lotion in Lemon
I was surprised to see this on sale since it wasn't online, but the lady told me it was only $2.62, so of course I'm going to get it! My mom, who hates vanilla, surprisingly got one too because she loved how lemon-y it is! I'm so happy with this purchase, it was cheaper than most of the travel sized body lotions. I also think this smells similar to the EOS Lemon Drop!

-Summer Vanillas Fragrance Mist in Lemon
I love to layer my scents, so of course I'm going to get the same body lotion in the mist! And this was also 75% off, so it was around $3, a HUGE deal if you ask me!

 -Orange Sapphire Body Butter
In my online order I got my mom a Orange Sapphire travel sized body lotion because she needed a new lotion for her purse, and she saw this at Bath & Body Works (also 75% off!), which of course ended up coming home with us. I don't know how good their body butters are, but I'll be sure to ask her if she likes them.

-Travel Sized Twilight Woods Body Butter
My brother has terrible skin on his hands, it gets so dry that it cracks and bleeds. I always feel bad when he complains about it, so I thought getting him a body butter would be a good idea! My mom smelled around and thought the Twilight Woods scent was fairly manly so we got a little one for him to try out. These are also 50% off!

-Black Amethyst Eau de Toilette
I saw this on the Bath & Body works website, but I had never smelled it before so it was too risky for me to buy. But in the store I took a whiff and it's actually a really good scent, and it was of course also 75% off of $30, so it was about $7.50 when I checked out. This is the fourth new perfume I've gotten from them in a week so I really don't think I need to get anymore for a long time, but saving $23 is just too good to pass up!

-14.5 oz Candle in Mint Chocolate
All the candles are 50% off right now, so of course my mom and I went around smelling them all. This one was by far our favorite, it smells exactly like mint chocolate ice cream (which is also one of our favorite desserts). I can't wait until she burns it, the house is going to smell delicious!

Bath & Body Works New Scents: Bali Mango, Hawaii Coconut, and Fiji Passionfruit

I received these new fragrances from Bath & Body Works for Christmas! I always love fruity smelling things, so I was super excited to try these new scents out. But I am a little confused as to why they released these in the dead of winter? Maybe it's because people are going on tropical vacations? Beats me.  Their last new fragrance, which was Secret Wonderland, was available in a $1 travel sized body lotion and a $2 travel body spray. But this time around these are only available in the travel body lotions. I recently checked out the website to see if these were still available for $1, but they are all sold out! So you may be able to get them in stores, but it seems like they were snatched up pretty quickly.

Bali Mango:
The little flower packaging on this bottle is so cute and tropical, it makes me wish there wasn't a snow storm going on outside my window! The tops on these new scents are also different than the regular ones, just a straight cylinder instead of the one that flares at the top. As for the actual smell, I'm a little disappointed. Bath & Body Works usually nails it in my opinion when making original scents, but I know I have smelled this Bali Mango in some other product before, I just can't remember what. The fragrance reminds me of Suave products, it's just that "cheap" sort of smell. It also resembles the Herbal Essences None Of Your Frizzness Smoothing Leave-In Creme, which I wasn't a fan of that scent in the first place. When you first take a big whiff, you can tell there's some mango, but there's also a hint of a strong perfume-y smell. I think you could probably find a ton of dupes of this fragrance, it's nothing original, not a must-have.

Hawaii Coconut:
Again I love the bottle, the blue sky and brightly colored leaves are a great cure for the snow blues! When I smelled this, my first thought was that it's just like the Twilight Woods body lotion, but a little sweeter. If you like Twilight Woods you'll most likely enjoy this scent, its like a less intense version. I'm not a huge fan of coconut, food wise, so I thought I wouldn't like the smell, but this is actually probably my favorite of the three, as I think it has the most distinct smell. I've never really taken a whiff of any coconut things because I think they make me sick, so I don't have much to compare this to, but In my opinion it's a really great fragrance because you won't immediately know what it is; it takes some thought to figure out!

Fiji Passionfruit:
Surprise surprise, I'm in love with this bottle too! This one reminds me of a tropical rainforest with the green leaves and red flowers. I still kind of have the same problem with this scent as I do with the Bali Mango because I could swear I've smelt it before. But, it's not as generic, a little bit of mystery is in there. I wish this was more fruity, when you first take a whiff it has that classic "lotion smell" that like I said before a lot of cheap brands such as Suave have in their lotions.

These body lotions were a great deal for only a $1 a piece, but the only one I think I would repurchase would be the Hawaii Coconut (and only if it was on sale). In my opinion, none of these are really must haves, so if you missed out on the deals, don't sweat it!

Merry Christmas!

I just want to take some time and wish everyone a Merry Christmas! I had a great day with my family and I hope you all did too! Tomorrow I'll put up a post about what I got for Christmas, and I look forward to reading everyone else's posts on their Xmas gifts.

Sorry for the lack of blogging, it's been a VERY hectic month, and it's not over yet. So I will try and get as many posts as possible up in the next few days because that's probably all the time I'll have to blog until the semester change on January 31. Fingers crossed that I'll be walking into a much more relaxed semester, this one definitely had me in tears at times, which is no surprise since I've heard Junior year is the hardest. But keeping all my grades above a 90 will be worth it if it gets me into a great school in two years!

L'oreal HIP Jelly Balm

Discover the secret for sheer, mouthwatering color. HIP Studio Secrets™ Professional Jelly Balms deliver a pop of sheer, tempting shine in a light, soothing balm. You'll get a fresh, sweet look that leaves lips soft and conditioned.

Expert Application Technique:
Play up your look with luminous, shiny lips. Wear balm alone or layer over your favorite lipcolor for a shiny, tempting finish.

Available in 6 Shades:
  • Delectable
  • Luscious
  • Plush
  • Ripe
  • Savory
  • Succulent

These were bought in my All Cosmetic Wholesale Haul, so for all the information on buying this set, check this post out! I got mine in a set of three, "Savory 420" an orange-y flesh tone color, "Luscious 720" a deep wine almost brown looking color, and "Plush 120" a bubble gum pink color. My L'oreal HIP Jelly Balms have sat in the back of my makeup drawer for a while, but I recently broke them out and have absolutely fell in love. A lot of people compare these to the MAC Tender Tones, which I've never had, but I think this L'oreal product holds up well by itself.

Left to Right: Plush, Luscious, Delectable

Pros:  I'm a packaging fanatic, and I love how these are designed, they look so sleek to me. These lip glosses smell delicious, exactly like vanilla. When you put them on, you get a sheer wash of color, and insane shine. They feel super smooth all day long, and are pretty long lasting. This lip gloss has nada, none, zip shimmer, absolute flat color, and it makes me love it that much more. My lips always feel super moisturized when I wear this and when it wears off.

Cons: I don't think it's very sanitary to be sticking your finger in a product to get it out, plus it means I need to wipe my hand off afterward. These are pretty pricey for the small amount of product you get, so I would never buy these at the drug store for $8.99 a piece, try to find them online for good deals. Though the packaging is cute, it's a little too heavy to just pop in your pocket or bag. They all give off a nice color except for the color "Savory 420" which might do something on a darker skinned person, but it's just like a clear gloss on fair skin.

I have heard these are being discontinued (not sure if that's true since they are still featured on the L'oreal website) but regardless if they are/aren't, I would recommend getting some of these, they won't end up on your products I regret buying list!

Sally Hansen Smile Brightening Lip Treatment

My mom took me to Big Lots after school today, and they didn't really have much in terms of good makeup, but I did find this Sally Hansen Smile Brightening Lip Treatment for only $2! Mine is in the color "Radiant" which looks like a gorgeous sparkly, ruby red gloss in the tube. On the back of the package it comes in, it says "You Have Yellow teeth, a dull smile and dry lips. You Want Teeth that look whiter, a brighter smile, plus smooth, soft lips now. How It Works Specialized color pigments in this lip gloss shade counteract yellow tones in teeth, making them look whiter. Optical Brightening Pearls, Borage and Cornflower Extract help create the effect. Shiny gloss glides on smooth, not sticky. Botanicals and Vitamins A, C & E soften and condition dry lips. Pleasant vanilla mint flavor freshens breath." I've only had this for a couple hours, but I've been wearing it non-stop.

Pros: The packaging looks really cool with the big circle-ish things on the side of the tube, and the silver part can double as a mirror. This gloss smells amazing, it's a mix of mint and vanilla, which is personally two of my favorite scents. I really did notice that my teeth looked whiter, and who doesn't want that? The application of the gloss is a little sticky, but once its on, it really feels nice and smooth. It takes a while for this to wear off too, which I love. The color looks really shimmer-y in the tube, but on your lips its just the perfect subtle glow.
Here's a quick swatch on my hand.

Cons: They claim the vanilla mint flavor will freshen your breath, but honestly I don't notice a difference in my breath, and I'm certainly not going to eat this gloss just to see if that will work. The application is a little tricky, the gloss is slightly stick when you put it on so that makes it hard to get the edges of your lips look right (which is important with such a bright colored gloss). This is sort of a pro in my opinion, but the color looks more vampire-y red than glamorous red in the bottle. The little hole you pull the gloss wand out of is really quite small, you kind of need to tug to get it out, which in return you end up getting gloss all over the plastic stopper.
I'm in love with this color, the effect this gloss gives my teeth, and I really recommend you go out and try it for yourself!

MassachuettsMask Site Update

If any of you have checked back here in the past week, you might have noticed I've been playing around with MassachusettsMask's site layout. I had that vintage runway background, the shopping bag background, the blue towels background, and tons more. None of those were really working for me, so I went back to my very first background, with some tweaks on the layout of the site. I think I've gotten it to something I like, but let me know what you think!

Bearpaw Ankle Booties

So my mom bought these for me back in like the 7th grade when I was in such an Ugg phase, but she just really didn't want to spend $120 on shoes. These were only like $60, but trust me, it is so not worth it. Honestly just save your money until you can afford an actual pair of Uggs. 50 pairs of fuggs doesn't compare.

Pros: These are obviously cheaper than Uggs.

Cons: I don't know if this happens with actual black Uggs, but these shoes get dirty SO easily. The fur on the inside isn't as fluffy as Uggs, and it leaves my socks/ankles with black stains. The opening is hard to get your foot into, you really have to tug.

They come in many other styles/colors, so maybe those are actually worth checking out, but don't waste your money on the Ankle Booties.

My Perect Imperfections

I saw this tag going around YouTube and I really wanted to do it myself. Be sure to tell me yours in the comments below :)

Imperfections:
-My skin
I've struggled with acne since I was in the 5th grade, and I've also been prone to pick at it. So I have a lot of discoloration on my face that makes me self conscious when I don't wear coverup.

 -My teeth
Okay I don't have hideously deformed teeth where you can clearly tell that person has never had braces, but they are a little crooked on the top. Luckily that's something 6 months with Invisalign would fix.

-My butt
UGH I always hear girls bitching about how BIG their butt is. I have the exact opposite problem; mine is too small. It's so hard for me to keep my pants up without a belt because they honestly just slide right off my backside. I could gain 50 pounds and about 2 of those would go to my butt.

Perfections:

-My eye color
I LOVE having brown eyes. They're the perfect shade, not so dark they look black, and not so light that they look like baby poop.
-My feet
I'm one of those people who gets really grossed out by feet, but I think mine are really nice. I don't have that weird thing where your second toe is longer than your big toe, and they're just really good looking feet in my opinion.

-My collar bone
Collar bones in general are just something I think are super attractive on anybody, as weird as that sounds. I'm even considering getting mine pierced for Christmas :).

Wet n Wild Megaslicks Lip Gloss

I bought this about 4 years ago before my moms wedding, in the color "562B Cherry Glaze" because I thought it would be a little like liquid lipstick and come out bright red like it looks in the tube. I found this in the back of my lip drawer yesterday and absolutely fell back in love with it!

Pros: This lip gloss is exactly like liquid Chapstick brand cherry chapstick, from the smell and the color it gives. You get a nice little touch of red to your lips, nothing too heavy. It doesn't feel sticky or anything, just smooth and glossy.

Cons: The packaging is a little gross, all the glitter letters come off and leave your hands messy. This doesn't last very long on my lips and I find myself applying it a lot throughout the day. There's also no SPF in this gloss.

I probably won't repurchase this just because I think I have better lip products, but if you're looking for a cheap gloss with a little wash of color, this is your product (or if you're a huge cherry chapstick person).

EOS Lip Balm In Summer Fruit

Haha so I actually begged my mom to buy me a new EOS Lip Balm after I lost mine last week (I'm hoping it just fell out in my dad's car...). Since I've already had the Lemon Drop one, I thought I'd get the Summer Fruit since it's sold out on the EOS website. I was expecting it to be pretty similar to the other flavor, but there actually quite different.

Pros: Obviously the egg packaging is still the coolest thing around.

Cons: This flavor is a different texture than the Lemon Drop, it's more of a gel and Lemon Drop is thicker/creamier. I don't know if that has anything to do with this, but Summer Fruit doesn't moisturize my lips as well as Lemon Drop. It also smells a little artificial? I was expecting fresh fruit, but it's more of a manufactured scent. It also doesn't taste as good if you get a little in your mouth. There's no SPF in this flavor either.

Although I don't like this flavor, I definitely recommend checking out EOS Lip Balms.

40 Beauty Questions

SKINCARE

-How many times do you wash your face daily?
Always in the morning (or afternoon on weekends), and before I go to bed. Sometimes when I get home from school, if I'm not feeling too lazy.

-What skin type do you have? (dry, oily, combo)
Okay so I used to have wicked dry skin before I started going to a dermatologist. I'm talking like legit peeling off dry skin. But I started seeing my derm in March, and since then he's had me on some cream and antibiotics that make my skin really oily. He swears it's just because of hormones, but that's what anyone over 35 says about teenagers.

-What is your current facial wash?
I recently ran out of my Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser, so I've been using this big tub of CareOne cleansing skin cream that I bought like 4 years ago. And this is like the BIGGEST tub of facial wash, it would last me forever. But it has menthol in it for some reason and irritates my skin, so I've just been using my Clean & Clear Morning Burst Cleanser day and night. It smells like soap by the way, not citrus.

-Do you exfoliate?
Nope, I don't see a need for it.

-What brand do you use?
Nada.

-What moisturizer do you use?
Cetaphil Ultra Hydrating Lotion at night, and Cetaphil Daily Facial Moisturizer with SPF  15 in the morning.

-Do you have freckles?
You would think I'd have more since my mom has a tsunami of freckles, but nope just a couple. One is above my right eyebrow and a couple are on my arms and thighs.

-Do you use eye cream?
Sometimes I put Bio Oil around my eyes, but it's not a nightly thing.

-Do you or did you have acne prone skin?
Yes I do, and I have since about 5th grade.

-Did you ever have to use Pro-activ?
UGH, yes. Worst products ever. They dry your skin out, cost an arm and a leg, bleach your towels (yeah my mom was pissed about that one), and makes your face hurt. Like actually hurt to the touch after use.

MAKE-UP

-What foundation do you use?
I just use a light layer of Maybelline Dream Matte Powder, which isn't actually matte by the way.

-How about concealer?
Cargo OneBase Concealer + Foundation

-Do you know your undertone color?
I actually have no idea, I think yellow if that's an option? Just because my skin can look orange very easily.

-What do you think of fake eyelashes?
Eh, unnecessary. Plus my mom told me of a story where someone lost their sight because of the glue. I don't know if I believe that, but why chance it.

-Did you know that you are suppose to change your mascara every 3 months?
I do know that, but I don't think it's necessary to change it that often. I keep mascara for months, even years at a time and there's absolutely nothing wrong with them. But whatever, if you're concerned about it, change it every 3 months.
-What brand of mascara do you use?
I mostly use my Maybelline Lash Stiletto just because I don't want to purchase a new one at the moment, or my Sephora clear mascara.

-Sephora or MAC?
Just because I don't own any MAC products, Sephora.

-Do you have a MAC Pro-card?
Nope.

-What makeup tools do you use in make up application?
Mostly my fingers, whatever applicators come with products, and my kabuki brush.

-Do you use make-up base/primer for the eyes?
I sometimes put my concealer on my eyes to prime them.

-For the face?
Nope.

-What is your favorite eyeshadow?
I don't really have a specific favorite eyeshadow, but I do like CoverGirl eyeshadows.

-Do you use pencil or liquid eyeliner?
Pencil.

-How often do you poke your eyes with an eyeliner pencil?
Really not that often.

-What do you think of pigment eyeshadows?
Messy, messy, messy.

-Do you use mineral makeup?
My mom does, and I just think it's so messy. She ends up getting it all over the sink, it's just why bother.

-What is your favorite lipstick?
I don't really wear lipstick, but my favorite that I own is a Jordana Matte bright red lipstick that I've had since I was like 5.

-How about lipgloss?
My L'oreal jelly balms.

-What is your favorite blush to use?
I don't really own any blushes I like at the moment.

-Do you buy your makeup on ebay?
No, I feel that's a little dirty, like you don't know what other people have done to it or if it's even real.

-Do you like drugstore makeup?
I only like drugstore mascara, chapsticks, and CoverGirl eyeshadows.

-Do you go to CCO's?
Nope.

-Did you ever consider taking make-up classes?
I've considered it, but why pay for a class when the people of YouTube teach you for free?

-Are you clumsy in putting on makeup?
Surprisingly no, I'm pretty OCD about keeping everything neat.

-Name a makeup crime that you hate?
When people accentuate everything at once. Hello, you can't have a smokey eye, heavily contoured cheeks, and a bright lip all at the same time.

-Do you like colorful shades of makeup or neutral ones?
I like any shade as long as it's matte.

-Which celebrity always has great make up?
I think the Kardashians always have great makeup, even Kris.

-If you could leave the house using just one make up item, what would you use?
Well I always leave the house without makeup, so that's not a big deal. But I would use concealer.

-Could you ever leave the house without any makeup on?
As stated above.

-Do you think you look good even without any makeup on?
I mean yes, I think I have good features.

-In your opinion, what is the best makeup line?
Probably MAC just from all the things I've heard.

-What do you think of Makeup?
It's another great art.

Neutrogena Mineral Sheers Blush

Mineral Sheers Blush is a whole new way to blush, naturally! It not only delivers the perfect amount of color every time, it's actually good for skin.

Developed by dermatologists, this lightweight powder contains pure, gentle minerals that soften and smooth skin, while the innovative all-in-one brush delivers just the right amount of color. With naturally-derived silk powder, patented Total Soy, and an exclusive multi-vitamin complex of Vitamin E, Pro-Retinol, Vitamin C and Pro-Vitamin B5, even the most sensitive skin is beautifully conditioned and toned.

In six luxurious shades, there's no better way to enjoy healthy-looking, glow-from-within color--naturally.

  • Oil-free

  • Non-irritating

  • Fragrance-free

  • Dermatologist developed

  •
    Available in 6 Shades:
    • Illuminator
    • Precious Pink
    • Natural Apricot
    • Silky Sable
    • Rare Rose
    • Pure Plum

I've never been a big fan of Neutrogena skin products just because they've never worked for me, but I thought I'd give their cosmetic line the benefit of the doubt. Now I know their skin stuff works just the same as their makeup.

Pros: I have the color "Natural Apricot 20" and it looks really pretty in the container. The product also has no smell, which I like.

Cons: The attached brush is absolutely terrible. After shaking the container about 40 times, product actually starts to come out. But when I went to use it, this crappy brush spewed blush all over my face. There's no way to use this without the brush since it's attached, so I'm probably just going to end up throwing it out. The colors look absolutely NOTHING like they do on the Neutrogena Website.

Spend your money on something else, this isn't worth it.

    Christmas Wish List Part One

I'm so excited that there's all the Christmas-y comericals on t.v now :). They make me feel so cozy and festive; I love this time of year so much. Now all we need is some snow... But until then, I've decided to make my list early (I'll probably make some more as I'm always changing my mind about what I want)
I'll start off with lip products:
    -EOS Limited Edition Holiday Collection
The packaging on these looks so cute, it's a perfect stocking stuffer. Plus the limited edition flavor Pomegranate Raspberry sounds SO good. I'm also hoping to get another Lemon Drop one (I accidentally put a huge dent it mine when I droped it) and the Summer Fruit to complete my collection.

    -NYX Fruit Basket Gloss
These are so adorable, how could you not want them? Plus they're only $9 and I bet they smell amazing.

-Benefit Silky Finish Lipstick in Good to Go
I saw that this was used on Kristen Stewart in her Twilight makeup breakdown, and I've wanted it since. Her lips are the perfect barely there color in the movie, so I hope it looks as good on me as it does on her.

-MAC Satin Finish Lipstick in Cherish
I was actually looking into getting the shades Hue or Angel, but I saw swatches of them and they just aren't that appealing to me, plus Angel is a frost finish which I hate. Cherish looks a little too brown in the tube, but I love the swatches I've seen of it. So I'm hoping it'll be my perfect nude shade.

    -NYX Tinted Lip Spa
All of the colors this comes in look absolutely gorgeous, but I think my top picks are Copacabana, Metador, and Jewel. These would be perfect to keep in my school bag so I can keep reapplying them during the day.

    -Chapstick Ultra Smooth
I saw these in Target a while ago, and I just think they look so cute. I hope when I get these that it will redeem the Chapstick brand in my eyes after their terrible line of shimmer chapsticks.

    Next I'll do blush:

-Coastal Scents 10 Piece Professional Blush Palette
I don't like palettes for anything, they're just so bulky and a hassle, but I really think I'd get a lot of use out of this one. I only have 2 blushes at the moment, and really wanted the MAC ones, but for the price of one of those I can get 10 of these. A lot of these colors look good for contouring as well, which I really want to try. I've also been dying to get some products from Coastal Scents because I've heard they have some good stuff.

    -NYX Powder Blush in Red
I either like my blush to be really natural or really bright, and when I saw this NYX blush in Red, I knew I had to have it. Also, the Cinnamon color is supposed to be really matte, so I may add that to my list, but I'm worried it may look a little orange.

    Moving on to eyes:
    -Sephora Collection Eye Primer Pot
I was planing on getting the MAC primer, but apparently it has really terrible reviews? So I'd rather try this out knowing that I can return it without any problems.

Ahh, nothing better than this time of year :)
